SAMBRA was surrendered to MOGS by a backyard breeder along with her litter of seven puppies [Encanto Litter], due to trouble with Animal Control for having multiple intact dogs on the premises. TEMPERAMENT:Sambra is an absolutely stunning sable over tan bicolor female. She is very smart, and has classic GSD characteristics of being strong-willed and sometimes intense. But even though she puts on that she is a porcupine on the outside at times, she has a heart of gold, loves her person, and will do anything to please once she decides she trusts you. Sambra is housebroken and crate-trained, although she can be left loose in the home for 3-4 hours without being destructive once she is confident of her surroundings. She knows sit, wait, free, eat and go to bed, and also knows down, but doesn't like to do it. Sambra suffered the devastating and unexpected loss of her favorite foster brother, and in the aftermath, started to jump her foster homes 4ft fence trying to look for him. Since that time, she is 100% supervised in the yard, as she can leap a 4-ft fence from a standing position. She has not been able to scale either a 6-ft chainlink or 3-6ft privacy fence. PEOPLESambra loves hard when she trusts someone. She does require slow intros to other adults, as she can sometimes be anxious/skittish, and will want to go in the opposite direction. Sambra will not be placed in a home with young children due to some history of hard mouthing when she gets over-excited. OTHER ANIMALSSambra is in a home with several other foster dogs, and gets along well with all of them, with appropriate, slow introductions. She can be a hard player, and races around and wrestles with all of the other dogs in the home. She does have one foster sister that is an even harder player than she is, and does break off at times to find her person, if she gets overwhelmed. Sambra is NOT safe with cats or other small animals, and will pack hunt with other dogs that have small prey drives. MEDICAL Sambra is up-to-date on all vaccines, has a current Rabies tag, is microchipped, and has been spayed. Sambra has no known health problems. If you're looking for a gorgeous, young, trainable German Shepherd who will love you forever,SAMBRA may be your ideal family member! SAMBRA'S ADOPTION FEE: $350 This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SAMBRA?Complete an Adoption Application Now!
