Perry County Humane Society of Illinois

We are a no kill shelter who aims to educate the public about responsible pet ownership & the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We encourage people to adopt pets instead of shopping for pets! We promote keeping pets healthy through routine vet care, getting adequate nutrition and exercise, and we recruit volunteers on a regular basis to work with our animals. We have very few employees (only 2 currently) and run almost entirely on a volunteer staff.

The best hugger on the block!  This gentle giant is Schroeder!  He's approximately 2 years and ready to lounge the days away with people of his very own.  Schroeder is so sweet he's going to give you cavities!   He's great with other dogs, and curious about cats.   Come meet Schroeder and lose yourself in all of his precious white floof!      

Adoption Process
Applicants must apply and pass a thorough screening process, which includes vet and personal reference checks. They must sign contracts and pay an adoption fee.
