Meet ChooChoo

ChooChoo Miniature Dachshund Spayed Female 13 years old, 12 pounds Meet Chewy, affectionately nicknamed ChooChoo! She was loved by her previous owner, who resided in an assisted living facility, but when ChooChoo was diagnosed with diabetes, a variety of factors led to her being surrendered. We were told our beautiful girl is a Chiweenie (dachshund/chihuahua mix), but she definitely looks and acts more like a mini dachshund. ChooChoo is 13 years young and loves everyone she meets. In foster care, she resides with another senior dog and a cat. ChooChoo is a shy, quiet girl that loves walks in the morning, time to roll in the grass, stopping to smell the flowers and a nap in the afternoon. She is a low-key pup that would do best in a home with another dog to follow around. She does enjoy children, but we think she would prefer a home with school-aged kids or no kids. After all, she’s in her senior years and deserves a quiet place to nap. A work-from-home person or retiree would be ideal since ChooChoo does get anxious when left by herself. She gives so much love that you might not want to leave the house, but you definitely won’t know what you did without her. We will provide coaching on how to manage her diabetes, which is easier than you might imagine. If you do want to go on vacation, no problem! Her current foster family is willing to keep her while you are traveling. If you are unsure about the care diabetic dogs require, please submit an application or email the rescue at: [email protected] and we will call to discuss. Suggested adoption donation: $200.00

Adoption Process
Dogs under 7 years $250.00 Senior dogs: $150.00 All dogs are spayed/neutered; up to date on shots and microchipped. Also heart worm tested.
