Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Kody

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This silly boy with the big floppy tongue is Kody!  Kody was surrendered to us because the family had too many dogs to care for.  Kody is a goofy silly sweet boy who would love an active family that wants to have some fun!  Kody is ready to learn new things and has so much potential at just 6 months of age this cutie is already a big puppy.  We actually have his mom and dad at the shelter too.  You can take a look at them and see the family resemblance.  His dad is Guy and his mom is Molly Mae.  Kody is currently staying at Missy’s Boarding because the ECAS has so many dogs in our care right now but his care takers say he is a big goofy goober (so is his dad!).  The staff at Missy’s say he does a good job during the day keeping his kennel clean.  He will need some training and he is all puppy yet which is great because he is going to be a sponge and be excited to learn all the new stuff his forever family can teach him.  We are told he will do just about anything for a treat which will make training even easier!  Kody is a big lover and very much enjoys the company of any of the people he has met so far.  This big guy is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $300.00. If you think you would love a big puppy to snuggle up with and go on adventures with submit an application.

Adoption Process
