Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue

Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue in Nebraska is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our all volunteer mission is to keep Huskies and Malamutes out of shelters where they are at risk of being killed due to overcrowding. Siberian Huskies are beautiful. It's hard not to fall in love with their fluffy coats and gorgeous eyes, it's hard not to laugh at their antics and marvel at their independent intelligence. But with the fur comes the shedding, with the antics comes possible destruction and with the independence and intelligence comes a rather nomadic Houdini of a dog that wants to escape and run for the fun of it. Often these dogs are adopted by people who are not prepared for the very traits they were attracted to. Some husky owners are not prepared for the amount of energy these dogs have and the exercise they require. They are intelligent, but often easily bored and not easy to train, they can be stubborn and mischievous. Please research this breed carefully before you choose to adopt a Siberian husky.

Meet Pita

Hi! Hello! How are ya! My name is Pita, like the bread, but my foster parents also call me Pizza. I don’t really listen much when they talk to me though; I’m just too excited to be in a “house.” I was found wandering the streets with my friend and I don’t think I’ve been in a “house” before, especially not one with stairs and slippery floors… those things are scary! But there are a few things that make living in a “house” so worth it!   Number 1 is toys! I love to chase toys and bring them back to my foster parents when they throw them. They keep throwing stuff but don’t worry I always bring it back!   Number 2 is beds and couches! They are so comfy and great for snuggling. I love to cuddle!! I love to sleep in with my foster parents even when their other children wake them up before it's even light out.   Number 3 is my foster siblings! They are so fun to play with and we run so fast around their yard. One of the siblings is very grumpy and yells at me a lot but I just ignore him or give him a bop on the nose.   Number 4 is all the fun stuff that my foster parents have! They put it up really high to give me a challenge and they’ve gotten really good at it. But I am so proud of myself when I can get it down and chew on it.   Number 5 is of course my foster parents! I love my humans so much, even the little ones. Although those little ones fall over easy when I play with them and don’t slap me back… weird little hairless puppies. My foster mom thinks that the family for me will be able to keep me entertained and exercised while staying patient while I learn which things are mine (I thought it all was??) I will love you so much and always want to be near you!

Adoption Process
Our Adoption Process After you submit your adoption application, via our website, http://TaysiaBlue.com, a Taysia Blue volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days. We are most interested in which type dog will be a good fit for you and your family and the other pets in your home. We will also contact you by phone to learn more about the dog you're looking for and to review the current available dogs in our rescue. We will schedule an appointment for you to meet the dog(s). If a match is made, we can complete the adoption process at that time. If we don't find the perfect match, we'll keep trying till we do! We hope that your home is the very last stop on the dog's journey and we do all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier, including providing you with an information packet loaded with tips and resources. Our quality standard vet care is as follows: • Spay/Neuter - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to being adopted. • Heartworm Test - If the heartworm test is negative, the dog is placed on regular heartworm preventative. If the heartworm test is positive, the dog is treated to eradicate the heartworms and then placed on regular heartworm preventative. • Rabies vaccination • DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo) vaccination • Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination • Flea and tick preventative • Microchip Our adoption donation requirements are as follows: • Puppies 6 months of age or younger require a donation of $350. • Dogs over 6 months and under 8 years old require a donation of $300. • Dogs 8 years and older require a donation of $250.
