Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation

Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue is an all-volunteer group dedicated to the rescue of Beagles and education about responsible dog ownership. We find permanent homes for Beagles who have been surrendered by their owners or who have been abandoned or abused. Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue does not house dogs in a shelter as in many rescue groups. Our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments.

Meet Pokey

Pokey is a sweet boy. We believe he is mixed with Dachshund and maybe Jack Russell. He is approximately 5-7 years of age. He had an owner. We do not know the circumstances, but apparently they were living in a car. Unfortunately the police were called to the car over a domestic violence issue. The dogs ended up in the shelter where no one ever came back for them. One was adopted and we were asked to take Pokey. He is still learning a dog door but is housetrained otherwise. He is calm and relatively quiet. He is still adjusting but seems like a calm and easy going. He gets along with the other dogs just fine.   Adoption fee is $300 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc..                        We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back.      Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62.

Adoption Process
application, meet the dog, home visit, approval, sign contract, fee varies between $100-$300
