Meet Lisa Simpson

Meet Lisa Simpson! This 6-month old precocious pup was born into a local family who saved her mama from the South, not knowing she was pregnant. Her owner reached out to our rescue to help place 3 of the pups in this litter (we also have Bart Simpson and Maggie Simpson!) and Lisa is ready to be spoiled in a family all her own.    Lisa is a true middle child – easygoing and a people pleaser! She’s got the deepest, inkiest, soulful eyes and a goofy smile. Her right ear has a mind of its own and will constantly be flopped over as if she were standing in a windstorm. She loves watching television or video games, listening to smooth jazz, and practicing her saxophone (j/k…she’s a dog). Her mom is “big boned” if you catch our drift, and we suspect Lisa will be a cutie patootie with a big booty. She sneaks behind her foster family to adorn their ears and cheeks with sooooo many kisses. She loves, loves, loves playing with toys in the yard and will gladly fetch for hours.    All 3 puppies loved farm life for their first 6 months, and now that they’re out and about, tend to be shy and timid to try new things. They are perfectly housetrained, and crate trained, and though cautious with new people and new situations, are incredibly loving and affectionate with their people. In fact, Lisa is ironically being fostered in Springfield (the actual city and not the fictional one) and city living is definitely new to her! Loud sounds like fire trucks or dogs barking at her can be scary and overwhelming, so a more suburban or rural setting might be great for her confidence. But despite her fears, she has been a brave girl who is slowly learning to conquer urban walks with her four little white-socked feet. Due to her size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this precocious pup.    ** Puppy training at an approved facility will be required, with proof of registration prior to adoption.   Lisa Simpson’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who will be patient to let Lisa adjust to a new home and come out of her shell in her own time.  2. A family who fosters a low-key atmosphere in a quiet home. 3. A family who adores puppy kisses!

Adoption Process
Adoptions Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogs’ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success. We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adopters’ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our dog adoption specialists are invested in our adopters and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match. Adoption Process Our adoption process consists of the following: • Complete an Application • Reference Checks: Both veterinary and personal references are required • Phone Interview: Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable dog adoption specialists for us to understand our adopters household • Home Visit: Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person, include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete • Dog Meet: Adopters will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match – all resident family members are required to be present • Next Steps: Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog • Adoption: We ask our adopters to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all family members are committed – if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow Adoption Donations All Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines and monthly preventatives, have received fecal testing and 4DX testing for tick-borne illnesses, and are sent home with an extra 2 month supply of heartworm preventatives.
