Meet Waffles

Meet Waffles! This 1-year old golden gentleman came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray. Waffles is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and is ready to be drenched in the syrupy goodness of a loving family. Multiple vets approximated his age between 8-12 months, so he has some goofball puppy in him (and the best puppy eyes around), but is surprisingly calm for a youngster! Waffles is subdued 80% of the time with micro-bursts of energy and zoomies. We adore how serious his expression is while his actions are pure silliness. He wants to play but is adorably polite about it. He knows sit and paw and is soooo food motivated. In fact, whether you like your waffles Belgian style with strawberries and whipped cream or topped with fried chicken, this little man is down to share.  Waffles is a VGB (very good boy) and a seriously aggressive snuggler – a true superstar cuddle bug – he leans in hard and loves harder. He needs to be close to his people. Waffles loves toys and will destuff a fluffy toy with gusto. For a young man, he is a respectable dream on leash. Waffles is very, very waggy, is cat and dog friendly, and is currently living with an older 2-legged sister, who he loves. We suspect he is part beagle with his fur, mannerisms, and that magnificent sniffer of his. And those patterned forehead wrinkles! Be still our hearts. Like the sweetest waffle ridges, his furrows and folds are on spectacular display for all to admire. P.S. his single white stockinged leg is our favorite. Like your favorite buttermilk treat, Waffles requires very little prep and is a plug and play kind of dog. He has been very adaptable and is friendly to everyone he meets. Maybe Waffles is the missing ingredient in your family’s recipe for love? Due to his limited history, older kids would be best for this baby-aged breakfast buddy. Waffles’ top 3 priorities: 1. A family who works from home or is regularly around. Like a typical puppy, Waffles sometimes starts exploring or chewing where he shouldn't. He is still young, and it shows. 2. An active family with older (double digit age range) or no kids. His excitement could be a lot for young kids.  3. A family who grants free range of a home and wants a pup to be close. He loves his comforts and thrives on sleeping against/near people, so needs a family who wants a Velcro dog on the furniture.

Adoption Process
Adoptions Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogs’ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success. We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adopters’ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our dog adoption specialists are invested in our adopters and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match. Adoption Process Our adoption process consists of the following: • Complete an Application • Reference Checks: Both veterinary and personal references are required • Phone Interview: Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable dog adoption specialists for us to understand our adopters household • Home Visit: Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person, include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete • Dog Meet: Adopters will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match – all resident family members are required to be present • Next Steps: Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog • Adoption: We ask our adopters to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all family members are committed – if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow Adoption Donations All Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines and monthly preventatives, have received fecal testing and 4DX testing for tick-borne illnesses, and are sent home with an extra 2 month supply of heartworm preventatives. Adoption donations are as follows: • Whippersnapper Puppies (up to 11 months) $500 • Adult House Hippos (1 year – 7 years) $400 • Senior Pitizens (8 years+) $300
