Meet Ally

Hailing for Georgia, this stout and quick rottie is a real peach. Although she has been with her foster family for less than two weeks she has been a champ adjusting to the active life of a young family of three living in central Vermont. She is eager to learn and is very food motivated which makes treat training super easy. She grasps new commands quickly, and with a consistent pack leader, learns boundaries fast as well. Even though she is food motivated she is not food possessive. The foster dad has been able to take her bowl away mid feeding without issue, as well as take nylabones and other toys away as well. She is crate and potty trained. And on the one day a week where she has to be in the crate for a whole work day, she has had no issue.  Ally  has been very patient with the foster family’s three year old daughter and all of the unpredictability she brings.  Ally  even takes commands from said three year old for giving personal space and sitting for treats. She is fantastic on the leash. Even though she occasionally pulls when she encounters an interesting smell, she quickly goes back to walking if commanded. At the moment the foster family is working on walking when encountering new dogs since she is quite interested in meeting them. When she does meet them it is with interest and excitement, not aggression. Speaking of other dogs, she has been friendly with meeting new dogs, and has become best friends with the foster family’s senior labradoodle. She would probably get more fulfillment if her future furry brother(s) and/or sister(s) were as active at playing as she is. She has not been tested with cats. Overall she is the perfect dog for an experienced bully breed owner who wants to add a dog that has an endless supply of kisses, hugs and is desperately seeking a lap to lie on.    4theloveofdog.org
