Meet Rusty

Rusty is about 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. He has a very sad story to tell. Back in September of 2022, he and his best friend ended up in a terrible place. They call themselves a rescue but do not really find the dogs homes. He has been in a small room with minimal time outside for almost 2 years of his life... and he is only 3! Even more sadness to his story, someone came and adopted his friend and left him all alone. It has been about a year that he has been alone. Despite everything, he is the best boy!! He is so sweet and wants to please his people. He is strong and will pull some on a leash but is correctable with consistency. He knows the sit command and "crate" command to put himself to bed. He is great in the crate with no issues. He willingly jumps in the car for rides. He was super excited to get a toy to play with.. probably his first one in so long. He loves to listen to you talk to him and is so attentive. He will mainly ignore other dogs that he sees and go about his business. When he does have a direct interaction with another dog he seems a little unsure what to do, but with time we think he will make friends again.
