Meet VALENTINO

If you like scruffies, then tjis boy is your guy!Valentino probably has no idea how he ended up in a shelter with all the bushelter with all the busy chaos and noise. His previous life had been lived out on the streets with a homeless woman that loved him dearly. Sadly, she was struck by a car while walking along the side of a road in Texas with Valentino on a leash.  He was unharmed but she ended up in a hospital for weeks and it became apparent. She could never care for him again on her own. That’s how he came to us at Critter Cavalry Rescue. He arrived at his foster’s house after a loooooooooong van ride from TX, and understandably, started out a bit shy. But after he had a couple of days to decompress and hang out in the yard, he started getting the hang of his new digs. He even learned how to use the doggie door on his first day.  He gets along great with his foster dog brother and sister. He likes to play with a ball…but doesn’t really fetch. He also likes to carry around and crunch on plastic soda bottles and the occasional stuffed animals.  This boy loves a good kiddie pool with plenty of water in it for him to lay and soak up the sun and pretend he's at the beach.  He responds to ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘shake’, and probably knows more commands  than the humans have figured out yet. His favorite thing to do is to constantly give you his paw in an act of friendship and love and a desire for more attention of course. Valentino answers to many fun names like,  Scruff, Scruffy, Scruffles, and Scruffles have Scridges.  He likes to hang out with the people, either on the sofa, bed, or within arm’s reach of wherever the people are.  We found that he really likes to be brushed, and will roll over to make sure you don’t forget the belly rubs! He’s good in a crate, although actually getting him in there may take some cajoling and he's totally 100% housebroken. To say he's a good boy is an understatement.  He's actually the best boy ever and always willing to give you his paw and a smile and a great deal of love. If you will give him a chance  please contact critter cavalry rescue at [email protected] if you are interested.  He is currently in nashville, tennessee, and we transport to the northeast, as well as adopt locally.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or [email protected]

Adoption Process
All potential adoptors must complete the application request form on any dog. Before placing a dog with an adoptor Critter Companion conducts a vet check to ensure proper health, gets the dog up to date on all shots and neuters the dog.
