New arrival, Nolan, is taking everything in stride! He is a brave, friendly, confident and happy boy. Nolan is around 2 years old and 55lbs. Unfortunately, his owner passed away and health issues with other family members prevented them from being able to care for him and keep him out of the shelter. Nolan quickly hitched his freedom ride, after a 1 month stay in the shelter, and is very happy to be back in a house! This boy rides nicely in the car and even jumps in on his own. He is confident on the leash and does pull a little on walks, but nothing out of the ordinary. He is non reactive to dogs and people when they pass but he does wag his tail in hopes that they might stop to pet him. Nolan did great at his first Meet & Greet event with us and was happy to meet all of the new dogs and people around! Nolan knows "sit" and "lay down" already and is very eager to please. He appears to be housetrained and has had no accidents in his foster home. We believe Nolan was an only dog but he did great meeting other dogs at the shelter and even shared a kennel with one. He had no issues meeting all of the dogs in his foster home. We think he could live with or without other dogs in his forever home. Nolan loves toys and is happy to occupy himself with those! We don't believe Nolan has any experience being around cats. If you are interested in this handsome , playful and happy guy please email us for an application. [email protected] (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at [email protected]. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
