Location: Salem, Ohio Meet Yukon Cornelius! Yes, he is a character! 4.5 years old, 50 pounds, neutered and full of life! Isn’t he handsome? And he is a happy happyguy! Yukon spent 4 months in a shelter & is ready to make up for lost time. Full speed ahead- for a bit. Then he is ready to settle down and chill. Always ready for some loving & scratching. If you need him to settle down, just start scratching him and it’s an instant stop button oh and he is happy to be a lap dog! Ya, a 50# lap dog! Plus he will happily go in his crate and rest quietly. He is good all night in his crate. Another good distraction is a chew toy. Just give him something to chew on & he is happy! Yukon is fine loose in the home with supervision. He may have to get that initial male marking out of the way but after that, he would burst before doing anything in his crate or in the house. If left alone in the house he may chew something he shouldn’t so crating would be recommended if not supervised. He is curious about cats but doesn’t chase them or try to hurt them. There is not an aggressive bone in his body! He has been with several other dogs with no problems. I don’t see the typical cattle dog behaviors such as nipping at heels however because of his exuberance, I would still recommend a home without small children. He is a big boy that loves to run and play! We have worked on leash manners. He now will walk nicely on leash without pulling. It was important to work on this because he is a big, strong boy! Recall is improving but isn’t 100% He loves to explore and if he gets a whiff of something he may decide to investigate before returning to you. For this reason I would recommend a fenced yard. Yukon is an ACDRA foster located in Salem Ohio. He is current on all vetting, heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention and wormed monthly. I see Yukon in an active home that enjoys the outdoors.
