Meet Jet

Location: VT Jep Lyndonville, VT Jep is looking for an active partner to explore and enjoy life with! He’s a spirited, intelligent young buck who thrives with structure, exercise, and patience. With his big cattle dog personality, Jep needs an adopter with breed experience who’s ready to set clear boundaries and guide him to be his best self. Jep is an energetic dog who loves the outdoors. He’s great on a leash and enjoys off-leash adventures on trails. Regular exercise helps him feel relaxed and balanced, making outdoor time an essential part of his routine. He’s friendly with other dogs, especially his current canine companion, and even coexists peacefully with our chickens. Jep hasn’t been tested with cats and would likely give chase, so potential adopters with cats should live close enough for a home visit. At home, Jep is affectionate and loves to snuggle. He thrives in a calm, quiet environment and is content to curl up next to you until his next adventure. Highly food-motivated, Jep is eager to learn and easy to train — though his enthusiasm for snacks makes him a skilled counter surfer, so food needs to be kept out of reach. Jep’s playful personality and curiosity mean he’ll test boundaries to see what he can get away with, but with consistent structure and positive reinforcement, he blossoms. He truly enjoys training and responds well to gentle guidance. Jep can be anxious and reactive in certain situations. He’s wary of men and may need slow, positive introductions to build trust. Loud noises, sudden movements, and busy environments can overwhelm him, so he may struggle in homes with young children or frequent gatherings. However, with patient, calm handling, he can learn to navigate these challenges. He thrives on routine and benefits greatly from a predictable, structured home.   The ideal home for Jep would be a calm, quiet environment with someone who understands reactive dogs and can provide the consistency he needs. He thrives on routine and benefits greatly from regular exercise. A patient vet who uses gentle handling and plenty of treats will also help Jep feel more at ease during medical visits. Jep may not be the right fit for every home, but for someone willing to invest time and patience, he will be a fiercely loyal and loving companion. If you think you could be the person to help Jep thrive, he’s ready to meet you — treats in hand, of course. Jep is housebroken and crate trained, though he can get antsy in his crate if under- exercised. He is an approximately 35lb, 3 year old neutered male. He is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. Jep is in Lyndonville, VT and needs to meet his potential family prior to adoption to ensure a great match.
