Friends for life animal rescue

We are a foster-based rescue. We pull mainly from the south. We were poorly neglected' abundant, on the killing list, etc. The animals are vetted and transported to us. We also try to help local owner surrenders animals. Cats, we usually take the seniors who are hard to display. We all have a strong love for animals and will save as many as possible.

Meet Shelton

Shelton shares many attributes with his sister, Lainy, both being delightful puppies rescued just in the nick of time from a grim fate as one of three siblings facing euthanasia. He too is shy at first but warms up quickly. Upon arriving in our care, Shelton was afflicted with worms, fleas, and ticks, but we have since rid him of these pests. Despite his initial shyness, likely stemming from time spent in a daunting animal control facility, Shelton's natural curiosity and sweet demeanor shine through. He is full of puppy love, eagerly offering licks, wagging his tail, and showcasing an infectious energy that makes him an absolute joy to be around.   We estimate him to be about 5 months old and weighing about 20 pounds.  Due to his current small size we anticipate that he will stay small to medium sized when full grown.  Without seeing a mom or dad, it's always hard to determine a breed.  He may have some hound in him, but your breed guess is as good as ours! Shelton has a remarkable ability to get along with dogs of all sizes and ages. While he hasn't yet encountered cats, his friendly nature suggests he would adapt well. He's wonderful with children, though his exuberance means he might inadvertently knock over small toddlers in play. Although he has not yet mastered leash training or housebreaking, he is comfortable in a crate and enjoys car rides. Currently living in a roofed outdoor kennel in Texas, Shelton is an adaptable and charming pup, ready to bring happiness to his forever home. Personality: friendly, playful, affectionate, shy at first, energetic Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs.  Has not been cat tested yet. Training: crate friendly Estimated date of birth: 11/3/24 Weight: approximately 20 pounds Medical: Fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped Location: Shelton is currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport.  To apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/210286667669167 We always need fosters, please join us!  https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155
