Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet CeeCee

Hi!  My name is CeeCee and me and several of my friends are all looking for forever homes.  We are part of a rescue operation that resulted after we were originally taken in by a good samaritan when our owner threatened to dump us at a high kill shelter in rural Georgia.  The good samaritan originally planned on getting us cleaned up & finding homes for us but she quickly found herself overwhelmed, and then Hurricane Heleme came through which only made the situation worse.  She reached out to a small local rescue for help, who then reached out to the rescue community, and that's when BCAA stepped up and said they would help us ... yeah!  We all appear to have poodle mixed with some other small breeds such as malatese, bichon, yorkie and chihuahua ... me and my friend Connor are probably what is known as "yorkie-poos".  Some folks might say we are "hypoallergenic dogs" but due to our unknown mixes, that would need to be tested with each one of us; however, whatever we are mixed with, our foster mom says we are super cute.  While we are shy when first meeting, we have all started to come out of our shells and we all love getting attention.  When we first came into foster, we had a lot of fleas which combined with our living conditions resulted in various stages of hair loss which BCAA is taking care of.  I am about 6mos of age and only weigh around 8lbs and am not expected to get real big (being as we are so small, we would probably do better with older kids).  We all get along pretty good and while we have shown some curiosity with the cats we've seen, we haven't bothered them (they're all bigger than me!).  I share a crate with CeeCee and we are doing really good with minimal accidents as long as we are taken out on a regular basis.  We do bark in our crates if we hear our foster mom 'cause we would prefer to be out running around and getting attention.  My friend and I eat side-by-side without any problems and we do love our food (sometimes we go back and forth sharing out of the same bowl).  None of us have ever had a leash on before and we're scared about them so we will need secure fenced yards in order for us to take care of our business.  If you are interested in me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
