Meet sweet little Hades! She is a spunky little puppy with plenty of personality tipping the scales at just 8lbs at 11 weeks. The shelter’s best guess on her breed is a terrier mix. Her foster mom describes her as “her sweet little angel”, trotting around behind her everywhere she goes and takes every opportunity to hop on her lap for a snuggle. She finds ways to play with all of the dogs, varying in age and size, in the house. She is a big fan of toys- especially those that are fun to chew or squeaky! Hades is a quick learner and very food motivated. She is working on going to the bathroom outside and crate training- but certainly expresses her opinion about being in the crate before she settles. Because she is so young we think she will do well in a variety of homes as long as she gets training and socialization and we would like to see her go to a family with another dog to show her the ropes! If you are interested in this little darling please email us at [email protected]! Please email us at [email protected] for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us [email protected]. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!

We require vet and reference checks and a home visit for all adoptions. Our adoption fee is $275 with an extra $50 deposit for unaltered puppies.
