Meet Ranger

Location: KY We are so exited that this handsome guy is FINALLY ready for a family of his own. Grab a tissue… Ranger was found in early February 2025 with 2 severally broken legs, his left hind a nasty compound fracture. A sweet teenage driver witnessed the hit and run and stopped to stay with this boy until help arrived. He had to be rushed to a local vet where he underwent surgery to repair both legs. He spent about a month in the hospital and landed in Lexington KY to continue his healing journey.  Unfortunately there were some complications with the left hind leg and he had to undergo an amputation…but Ranger hasn’t skipped a beat! Ranger is a 1 year old cattle dog mix who is VERY FRIENDLY, social, exuberant & will do anything for food. He loves to go for walks so he can sniff and people watch. He’s so ridiculously happy all the time you can’t help but love him! Also- he smiles! Ranger LOVES children, other dogs of all shapes and sizes and hasn’t met a person he doesn’t love. ??  He is crate trained, loves toys, plays fetch, & mostly quiet in the house. He loves walks and laying in the sun. Ranger is slowly coming off all of his medication and is so so so happy all the time. He will need a patient family to continue to work with his introductions to other dogs and kids as he is so happy and excited with everyone and sometimes can’t contain his JOY ? He is never grumpy, even with all the pain he has been through. Just a real trooper! All medical records will be shared with the adoptive family as he has some pins and screws in his front leg. No long term medical issues are anticipated.  Ranger will do fine in any living condition, he currently is fostered in Lexington KY in a sub division with a fenced in yard. Life on 3 legs has not slowed him down! He is UTD on all vaccines, neutered, and on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
