Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet Carrie

Carrie was part of a hoarding situation with many other little dogs.  She was taken into our rescue along with all of the other dogs from the house. Carrie is two years old and 15 lbs.  Carrie is the sweetest girl. She is shy but is getting more comfortable each day and will be your best friend with a little love and patience. She doesn’t care about cats and if anything is afraid of them. A fenced yard is a must as she has had no experience on a leash. In time she would probably love to learn to take walks, but as of now she needs a yard when she goes outside. She is great in her crate, and likes and is pretty good going outside with minimal accidents as long as she is taken out regularly. I think she would enjoy the company of another dog although that’s not a must. She would do best in a home with older kids or no kids as she gets very skittish with loud noises and quick movements. She will make a fabulous companion as all she wants is to give and receive attention from her people.

Adoption Process
