Meet Ava

Ava is a 7 month old female Heeler mix. She is 25 lbs, spayed and current in all preventives.  Ava was adopted when she was  8 weeks old from a shelter. She spent 4 months living with an elderly family spending most of her time in a crate. Being a typical Heeler and bored senseless she was extremely mouthy. So they decided it would be best to euthanize her. ACDRA was notified by a Good Samaritan  and here we are. Ava was very mouthy, however with lots of time spent outside of her crate and simple correction this behavior has all but stopped. She is still a Heeler and she is mouthy but nothing out of the ordinary for the breed.  Ava spends most of her time trying to be one with anyone that will hold her. She loves to be in your lap and gives lots of kisses. She is doing well with meeting new people and she gets along with all her foster siblings. The young dogs she plays with and the older dogs she avoids.  Ava is on the small side making her the perfect sidekick. She loves car rides. She has some fear of new places but that will change the more she does it.  Ava is house broke with a dog door, doesn’t eat the furniture and prefers not to be in a crate. She does however love to chew up socks and her small size allows her to sneak in like a thief in the night.   Looking for a Heeler experienced home without small children for fear they would be chew toys. If you had another playful dog that isn’t a pansy she would love that.  For questions please contact Kimber [email protected] Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application
