AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Peppa is an energetic and curious puppy that has had no problem coming out of her shell since arriving at her foster home! She is currently around 6 months old and 30-35lbs. Peppa loves her crate and is always ready to jump in at meal and nap time, which for this hungry girl is quite often. She is walking well on a leash and good at sharing toys and space with her older foster siblings. She is also nicely taking gentle corrections when she goes a little too far with her puppy play. She has started learning basic manners and house training but is still in puppy mode so adopters should plan to continue to help her with training. Peppa has been great with kids and everyone she's met so far (she hasn’t met a cat yet ). Peppa is always down for a snuggle on the couch. She's not the biggest fan of the car but is relaxed and calm on rides. If you are interested in adding this sweet pup to your family, please email us at [email protected] Peppa was lucky enough to get out of the shelter and into a foster home but several of her siblings have not. If you are considering fostering or foster-to-adopt we would love to help her siblings!! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us [email protected]. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
Adoption Process
We require vet and reference checks and a home visit for all adoptions. Our adoption fee is $275 with an extra $50 deposit for unaltered puppies.
