SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue

Our mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless." We save the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, paralyzed dogs, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, dogs with neurological deficits & disease, dogs with injuries and orthopedic issues … the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized.

Meet Oakley

*Name: Oakley*Age: 1 year*Current Weight: 40 lbs*Rescued from: Texas*Adoption fee: $475  Meet Oakley – Your Future Best Friend! Oakley is a gentle, timid sweetheart looking for a patient and loving home to help him blossom. His foster family has been getting to know him better, and here’s what they’ve discovered about this lovable pup! A Loving, Gentle SoulOakley is as sweet as they come—he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! He’s totally submissive with other dogs, getting along well with both males and females. He’s learning how to play, and while he’s a little clueless at times, he’s always eager to please. Dog-Friendly & Learning to PlayOakley enjoys the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine friend to show him the ropes. He’s figuring out how to play—wrestling with his foster brother and patiently accepting the occasional dominance display. He’s also learning that toys and bones are fun (even if squeaky toys spooked him at first!).‍ Leash & Outdoor AdventuresThis long-legged, skinny pup loves his walks! He does cute little figure eights in front of you while sniffing everything. He’s very gentle on the leash and doesn’t pull, but he’s still learning about the world—new things can make him a little nervous. Timid but Sweet with PeopleOakley needs time to warm up to new people, especially kids. At first, he might back away, but with a soft voice and some patience, he’ll come over for gentle pets. His foster family is teaching him that people are kind, and he’s slowly learning to trust. Crate & Potty Training Superstar! No accidents here—Oakley is fully potty trained! He also sleeps quietly in his crate at night, though he needed a little reassurance at first. Now, he settles in like a champ. Food Motivated & Treat-FriendlyOakley takes treats gently and is highly food motivated. He’s still figuring out what to do with bones, but with a little encouragement, he’ll learn to enjoy them! Looking for a Patient & Loving HomeOakley needs a home that will help him build confidence and feel safe. A family with another dog would be ideal, and he’d do best with older kids who understand his shy nature. Because he’s still learning boundaries, a secure fence is important—he’s not quite sure about doors yet and needs supervision to prevent him from wandering off. Are you the one to show Oakley the love and patience he deserves? Apply today and give this sweet boy the forever home he’s been waiting for!
