Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Howard

Howard was born about December 18, 2021 and he will likely top out about 85 lbs.  He appears to be and is said to be pure bred from a breeder in PA named Bonnie Lee who is easily found on Facebook.  Howard is here along with three other dogs as a local, young, single mom has left an abusive relationship and is on a mission to keep her kids and herself safe and it was just that much more difficult with four dogs as I feel most of us can imagine.  The children in the home were young teens so we don't know about tiny kids.  When Howard arrived here he was rather protective of his human who was turning over all the dogs over to us which was very stressful for everyone involved.  After a few hours he decided the new humans in his life weren't too bad and he's been very good with everyone he's met.  So, we want to be sure any potential adopter knows that he does have a normal GSD protective side and this breed of dog is not for everyone.  Howard is said to be better with women than men as his puppyhood was spent with a verbally abusive man.  However, he is not having issues with his foster father so we hope he has adjusted.  The woman did state she could easily have visiting humans enter the home without issue.  Howard is fine with cats as there were some in his last home and he does ride fine in a car.  He has no idea of his size and does enjoy some snuggle time on a lap now and then.  Howard seems very healthy and does not have that low back end that some GSD's have, he is truly beautiful! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__400.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet
