Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Barry West

Barry was born about April 27, 2023 and weighs about 40 lbs.  He is with us because his young, single, human couldn't afford to care for him and was in the process of moving.  Barry was living with a mid-teen boy and was wonderful with him.  He is also very good with dogs of all sizes, and we were told the cat swatted him once and he ignored it thereafter.  She did say he was house trained, but with all these changes we want to caution you to be careful at first until you learn each other's clue and, at times he would wake her in the night to go poo.  Barry may be a dog that needs a leash or fenced yard as there may be some wanderlust.  Barry does well on leash.   He hadn't shown an interest in toys but loves treats and peanut butter. We feel Barry may have experienced physical trauma in his life resulting in some intellectual disability or he was born this way.  He is beyond sweet and loving but sometimes there just seems to be something amiss in his brain.  He will need a home with a bit of pampering and understanding but overall he should be a wonderful companion to the correct person(s).  We do feel a home with young children would be a bit confusing and uncomfortable for him and likely a more relaxed setting would be more suitable.  His gait is really cute when he picks up the pace he kind of prances!     The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_300.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet
