Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Greta

Greta was born about March 6, 2023 and will likely top out in the 35 lb. range.  She is as good-humored and happy-go-lucky as they get! She's fantastic with the other dogs, thoroughly enjoying her time running and playing with them. Greta also did splendidly on her two-hour car ride to the main site after her transfer to Joyful Rescues from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, which sought assistance from local rescues due to dangerously high overcrowding.  Greta seems to be on the quiet side which we love.  She has not had much interest in the pond.  She does fine on leash, it didn't take us long to realize she is hesitant about being picked up and tried to avoid us placing her in the car.  Since she was found abandoned in the city we have no back story about Greta and with the reluctance of being picked up we have to wonder if there was a small child in the home that would attempt to pick her up and caused discomfort.  Until she loses this behavior a non-slip Martingale collar should be in her future.  As for breed....she looks like a shrunken, blonde, Shepherd and, perhaps, there is some Husky in there somewhere along with a few other fun mixes.  She couldn't be cuter or a better size!  Greta may be a bit of a diamond in the rough, but without too much effort she will likely become your "best dog ever"!  Greta has become a very strong swimmer! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_550.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet
