American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.

Meet Potato

Meet Potato, the boy with the biggest smile! Potato is the kind of dog who stays cool, calm and collected – but always ready for an outdoor adventure, too! Pets, scratches and snuggles – he just loves getting attention! With his beautiful brindle coat and big, spud-shaped head, this handsome guy is bound to charm everyone around. Potato is a star learner and is his best doggy self when provided with fun, regular training. Here at the Adoption Center, he even performed beautifully in our canine agility games! On walks, he has phenomenal leash manners and walks right by your side. Potato also loves playing with his toys and is great at solving puzzles with hidden treats. This clever, active pup can’t wait to show you how paw-fect he really is! Potato needs to meet other dogs one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions! Children and cats might be new for Potato, so it is unknown how he would do with them. Our staff can discuss with you if he is the right match for your family. Potato is reported to be housetrained. An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set him up for housetraining success.  Are you ready to go on adventures with your tuber-ular BFF, Potato? Click the “Adopt Me” button to complete an application and learn more about him here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/09f8834a-ee83-4ff1-b82e-3a0c67124780   *The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.*
