Paws Crossed Animal Rescue Inc.

Our mission is to "Rescue one by one until there are none." Through this mission we will rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome orphaned pets. We aim to provide a loving, nurturing environment for all the animals in our care. We are committed to helping each individual pet find his or her perfect companion. We are dedicated to being a true no-kill rescue. We are committed to saving as many lives as we can and providing the best possible environment for the pets in our care. We are a team of experienced and compassionate people that are willing to go above and beyond to ensure our success. Our focus will be on rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs and cats. We will rescue from our community, the Southern United States as well as the Cayman Islands. We will offer a variety of programs and services to the community to make pet ownership easier and more affordable for the public. Our education programs are incredibly important to the community and will help pave the way for the future of animal rescue. The wide variety of services and programs we will offer the community will set us apart and allow us to truly make a difference. We will be one of the few no-kill rescues in the area, we will only euthanize for terminal illness or loss of quality of life. We plan to intake and adopt out about 1,000 dogs and cats per year. We will collaborate with other shelters and rescues in the area to work together towards a similar goal.

Meet Jay

Birthdate:  01/22/2022Breed: One of a kindWeight:   16 lbsJay is a sweet, gentle boy who thrives in the company of those he trusts. Though he is shy and can be a little reserved at first, he has a heart full of love and loyalty once he feels comfortable. His golden coat gleams like the sun, and his warm, soulful eyes are always watching, taking in his surroundings. Jay truly blossoms in calm, familiar environments where he can cuddle up next to people he adores. He may not be the most outgoing at first, but Jay’s presence is undeniably comforting—he’s the kind of dog who quietly rests by your side, always showing affection in his own way. He enjoys the company of others and will often follow his favorite people around, just to be near them. Whether it’s sitting at your feet or curling up on the couch, Jay will always choose to be close, offering his gentle companionship.Despite his initial shyness, once he opens up, Jay is incredibly sweet and loyal. He’s not demanding of attention but will appreciate gentle affection and quiet moments with his humans. He’s a small dog with a big heart, looking for a cozy place in your life where he can feel safe and loved.Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
