Our mission is to "Rescue one by one until there are none." Through this mission we will rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome orphaned pets. We aim to provide a loving, nurturing environment for all the animals in our care. We are committed to helping each individual pet find his or her perfect companion. We are dedicated to being a true no-kill rescue. We are committed to saving as many lives as we can and providing the best possible environment for the pets in our care. We are a team of experienced and compassionate people that are willing to go above and beyond to ensure our success. Our focus will be on rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs and cats. We will rescue from our community, the Southern United States as well as the Cayman Islands. We will offer a variety of programs and services to the community to make pet ownership easier and more affordable for the public. Our education programs are incredibly important to the community and will help pave the way for the future of animal rescue. The wide variety of services and programs we will offer the community will set us apart and allow us to truly make a difference. We will be one of the few no-kill rescues in the area, we will only euthanize for terminal illness or loss of quality of life. We plan to intake and adopt out about 1,000 dogs and cats per year. We will collaborate with other shelters and rescues in the area to work together towards a similar goal.

While he may initially be a bit shy, he is a sweet and affectionate companion who thrives in the presence of those he loves. Rick loves cuddles and with show the cutest smile when he's happy. His gentle nature shines through once he warms up, and he’s the type of dog who will quickly become your most amazing friend.Rick enjoys outdoor walks and exploring the world around him. Whether it's a short stroll around the block or a longer adventure, he loves the opportunity to get outside and stretch his little legs. His playful spirit emerges during these walks, and he’s always eager to discover new scents and sights.Overall, Rick is a loving, loyal, and beautiful companion who’ll warm up to you once he feels comfortable. With his striking coat and sweet nature, he’s sure to be a cherished member of any family.Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Adoption application- vet reference, personal reference, landlord check. adoption contract. Dogs over 6 months: $300 Dogs under 6 months: $350 Cats over 6 months: $125 Cats under 6 months: $150
