Meet Waylon

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: approx. 10 months old (as of 3/28/25) Weight: approx. 40 pounds (as of 3/28/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Waylon! More like, “Way-too-handsome!” This ten month old, Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix might just be the perfect addition to your family. We know he’ll find a home quickly because of how gorgeous he is, but in case you needed more convincing, here’s what his personality is like: Waylon is everything you’re looking for in a furry companion—gentle, affectionate, responds well and easy to train. He’s already house trained and crate trained. He’s very friendly and plays nicely with children, cats and small animals. One of our favorite things about him is that he’s a total cuddle bug! He’s athletic, healthy and currently up to date on all of his shots. He’s both clever and adventurous, thanks to his breed mix. An active family would be the perfect fit for this guy, as he’s sure to keep you on your toes! We strongly encourage basic obedience training for all our dogs, as it not only helps your dog blossom into a well-balanced canine citizen with good manners, but it also helps to form a lasting bond between your dog and the humans in your family. If you’ve always wanted a “dog named Waylon” and “got a driveway that needs pavin’”, it’s time to get Down to the Honkytonk and let him know you’re interested in meeting him!   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
