Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Forrest Gump

Forrest was born around December 26, 2022 might top out in 35-45 pound range.  What breed is he you may ask?  Well, the story goes like this, Bubba's mom is our Mrs. Gump who is a Yorkie/ Rat Terrier mix.  We are told the father is a Pug/Pit mix.  So that would make Forrest mixed....really mixed lol!  He rode nicely in the car on the hour-long trip to JR. He has been around children as young as 2 and is fine.  Forrest is incredibly sweet and cuddly. You will have normal puppy training to do but he is SO worth it!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $400.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
