Glynis TX

Northstar Pet Rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).

Meet Glynis TX

Glynis is a lovely, mature (not senior) lady who's about 7 years old. She's happy to go on walks, but frequently communicates that she'd rather just lie down in the sun.  A little jollying along, she'll give you "that look", then be right back with you. That's her - with an opinion, she'll give it to you, but then happily go along once she realizes resistance is futile. Glynis is a little wary when first meeting new dogs and people but give her a minute to scope it out, and she comes in to meet everybody.  She's great with her foster-sister and other dogs.  Once home, she's happy to curl up near you preferably on your lap.  Glynis is house trained, (newly and quickly) leash trained and great in crate at night after a few minutes of voicing her disapproval.  All in all, Glynis is a low drama sweetheart! Unfortunately, Glynis has tested positive for heartworm. She will begin treatment in January when she is spayed and has a dental done. She also has luxated patellas on her front knees. She will not go up or down stairs but she does take 3 walks a day that are 1/3 mile long & she shows no discomfort at all. She does have some calcium deposits on her right cornea which are no sort of a problem at this point. If you're interested in meeting Glynis, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for her by name - GLYNIS TX!

Adoption Process
Potential adopters will submit an adoption application. The adopters information will be screened including veterinary and personal references. After the first round of screening they will get the chance to meet the pet. If it is a good match, as deemed by NSPR volunteers, the adopter will complete an adoption contract and pay the fee of 375.00. All animals will be spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. The only exception would be small puppies in which case the adopter will submit an additional deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. In the event an animal is no longer wanted, the adoption contract will stipulate that the animal always gets returned to us, and is never sold, given away, or surrendered to another rescue or shelter.
