Meet Bindi

Location: Palm Bay, Florida Hi! My name is Bindi. I am 2 years old and came from some pretty hard times in Ohio. I was homeless and hungry, but some really great humans came together and got me all the way to my foster family in Florida! I’ve finally reached my goal weight, and the Dog-tor says I’m a perfectly petite 30 pounds! I was really excited to find out I have foster brothers and sisters because I am fast friends with all dogs big and small!   My favorite things are squeaky toys and long walks that give me plenty of time for sniffing. I’m also up for any kind of car ride! If there’s room, I love to ride shot-gun! My foster mom says my little bob-tail does helicopter circles when I’m really happy. It makes her laugh, so now every time my foster family talks to me in a happy voice, I give them some “helicopters”. When it comes to cattle dog energy, I am pretty low key. Aside from a walk, I don’t need a lot of exercise. Sometimes I’ll do zoomies in the backyard with my pack, but then I’ll need a nice long nap. I usually sleep on a nice soft bed in my crate, and the door to my crate stays open because I’m not a chewer and I don’t make any messes. I tell all my new friends that I went from street life to sweet life – but life would be even sweeter if I can find my fur-ever family!   Foster parents here! Bindi has been the perfect houseguest! She is very food motivated, so teaching her basic commands has been pretty easy. She is housebroken, super sweet, and has been the easiest foster ever! She can be a little barky sometimes (like when you’re not dishing up breakfast fast enough, or when the delivery guy leaves a box at the door), but we have been working on teaching her the command “enough” to get her back to a calm state…that is still a work in progress because meal times and delivery guys are super exciting! Bindi can come across a bit shy around new people, but with some patience and love, she will honestly be your best friend. We have watched her come so far in our foster care, so with lots of gentle and consistent love, Bindi will absolutely continue to blossom! Bindi has been introduced to kids, and as long as they are a bit older (8+) and can respect her space, she is a perfect furry friend. Other dogs are a big plus! Either a canine sibling, or trips to day care where she can make friends would really make her happy and continue to build her confidence. Cats and other small animals are a definite no due to her prey drive. We have not tested her with those, but she has done a good job running off the squirrel and possum activity behind our house. Bindi is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines/heartworm prevention, microchipped, and a just a quiet, laid-back girl. She is absolutely a 10/10! If you’re ready to add this sweet baby to your family, please fill out an application at https://www.acdra.org/adtoption-application Bindi is currently being fostered in Palm, Bay, FL. Since she can be a little people-selective (who isn’t?), we are requesting a local (FL) adoption. You can direct any questions to [email protected]
