Northstar Pet Rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).

Meet Triscuit's Oyster TX

A little Chihuahua with a nubbin of a tail sat in a Texas shelter up until she was about to give birth. NorthStar heard about Triscuit's situation - they whisked her out of the shelter & had her flown to NJ to a wonderful maternity foster! On 10/3/2024, Triscuit gave birth to 5 beautiful babies known as "The Cracker Crew" because they are named after different types of crackers! The only female in the group is Triscuit's Melba. The 4 boys are Triscuit's Graham, Triscuit's Ritz, Triscuit's Oyster and Triscuit's Goldfish. The puppies are healthy, active puppies who are looking for homes where they will be given the attention and training a puppy needs. Because of their tiny size, they are looking for homes where children in the home are respectful & considerate. If you'd like to meet Triscuit's Oyster when he is available for adoption after 12/8, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for TRISCUIT'S OYSTER TX! His adoption fee will be $425 plus a refundable $100 spay/neuter fee.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters will submit an adoption application. The adopters information will be screened including veterinary and personal references. After the first round of screening they will get the chance to meet the pet. If it is a good match, as deemed by NSPR volunteers, the adopter will complete an adoption contract and pay the fee of 375.00. All animals will be spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. The only exception would be small puppies in which case the adopter will submit an additional deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. In the event an animal is no longer wanted, the adoption contract will stipulate that the animal always gets returned to us, and is never sold, given away, or surrendered to another rescue or shelter.
