Meet MOMMA STARLIGHT

This is our most innocent and sweetly beautiful Momma Starlight, a young 2 year old, 13 pound cockapoo with a sad story but a beautiful soul. This girl is searching for a home that will nurture her confidence and give her a stable place to learn how to at peace for the people in her life.  This sweet girl just had 5 beautiful Cockapoo puppies via emergency C-Section over 6 weeks ago.  She had the misfortune of being in a overpopulated breeder home that did not really take good care of the dogs that were breeding and making her money.  Momma Starlight and other got little to no attention and therefore many have had to be worked with patiently and with love.   She grew up unable to enjoy all of the lovely things that make a dog's life wonderful.  A group of people helped to change Momma Starlight’s future and stepped in to remove her while pregnant, from the horrible circumstances of being bred over and over again.  Her puppies are gorgeous just their momma Starlight is.  She is slowly, day by day, learning to trust her sweet foster humans.  Still cautious of all new people and situations, she can be easily startled by loud noises and sudden movements.  She has made good progress because her foster mom is taking her for very needed walks on a leash which establishes a special bond and connection with shy and unsure dogs.   She is comfortable with her new surroundings and eagerly comes to greet the people she knows and trusts for ear scratches and butt rubs.  She happily wiggles her tail to greet you with a positive and happy response which was not there in the beginning.   She is learning to enjoy going for walks and does nicely on the leash.  She enjoys sitting on the couch watching TV with her foster mom and dad and you can see by looking into her eyes that she craves love now that she has had a taste of it!  A lively home with small children is not the best for her.  A single, or a couple without small children would be perfect!  She gets along fine with other dogs and a confident dog in the home could show her how to relax and trust very readily.   Leading by example could be wonderful for her if another dog is in the home. She has not quite grasped the concept of pottying outside, but is completely reliable to use her pee pad in the same corner of the kitchen.  She knows the special spot inside on the pee pad.  Smart.  She is worth every effort to watch her blossom and peel away the shyness.  She is so gorgeous and so deserving of your love.  If you are interested in this gorgeous BLONDE…please email at [email protected]  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.
