Buffalo CARES was started by 7 people who have worked together for years at various other rescues. We started this rescue because we wanted to make sure our rescue was run the right way. We saw a need for a rescue in the Buffalo, NY area that would help & rescue local dogs. The majority of our animals are local animals.

Meet Appa

Hi! I’m Appa. I’m a 4 year old Lhasa Apso who is loving just being the king of my castle. I am a huge fan of going on walks, and love sniffing everything along the way. I have a huge dog bed that’s just for me, and I’ll tuck my toys in with me to keep me company. I love getting pet, and will give you my belly to rub. I do have a voice, but I don’t use it very often, which I understand is important, especially in apartments! I would love to meet you and see if we can be best friends forever. Adoption Process
All adoptions require, reference checks, vet reference checks, home visits, meet & greets. From there we will determine if that applicant is right for the dog they are interested in. At the adoption, a contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be paid. Fee's are based on the specific dog. Puppies, adults, bully breeds or special needs.
