Meet Sandy

Sandy brings her high spirits and playful personality to Connecticut to share with a lucky, loving, active forever home and family.Sandy was surrendered to our southern shelter partner when her owner could not give Sandy the time and attention an active young girl needs. Sandy is 10 months old, a Black Lab/mixed breed bundle of fun ready to romp around her yard with dogs and children as playmates. She is 62 pounds and still growing so it is estimated that she will be a big girl (over 60 pounds) when she finally stops growing. With a friendly, good -humored nature and plenty of energy, Sandy is a great exercise and adventure companion. It is not known currently whether Sandy is ready to spend time with cats. Sandy is working on her house, leash and crate training. Labradors are eager to please their human companions, so consistent, positive daily training will reward you with a well-behaved member of the household. Sandy will thrive on the structure and routine that are critical to teaching her how to be a well-mannered member of her household. Rescue dogs and pups in training will have accidents as they adapt to a new home and new friends. If crate training is planned, Sandy requires a suitably large crate so she can turn around and lie down with ease. Crates must be warm, inviting places and never be used for punishment. Sandy will bring so much energy, happiness and joy to the family who is ready and able to provide her with plenty of fun and games, attention, and lots of love for this big-hearted girl. The adoption fee for Sandy is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
