Meet BunBun Hot Dog

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: 2 months (as of 04/18/25) Weight: 2 - 3 lbs (as of 04/15/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet the Hot Dog Pups! There are three beautiful girls – Vienna, BunBun and Coney and four handsome boys - Frank, Link, Schnitzel, and Bratwurst (also available on SOS).  These precious pups appear to be a Dachshund and Chihuahua mix, otherwise known as a ‘Chiweenie.’ Potential adopters should keep in mind tiny-breed dogs are often not a good fit for households with multiple and/or young children. They are playful with all people including kids, and they love playing with their family’s two children. At first meeting they may act a bit shy, but give them just a little time and these happy-go-lucky pups will be your new best friends! Being just puppies, they will have so much to learn! They'll need house training, crate training and will need to learn to walk on a leash. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog. The Hot Dog pups are pretty quiet, but you might hear them bark when playing.  They love toys and are happy to chill with a ball when not playing with you!  BunBun would love to find a forever family that has lots of time and patience to raise a puppy properly, and who has lots of extra time for loving and cuddles. If you are looking for a puppy, BunBun, or one of her littermates may be perfect for you! Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family! Hot Dog Litter story: In a small town a family found themselves caring for an unexpected litter of seven lively puppies. Their beloved dog had given birth, and while the puppies brought joy to the home, the family knew they could not provide for so many little ones. They had wanted to spay their dog and neuter the father, but financial challenges had kept them from taking that step. Understanding the puppies deserved a brighter future, the family turned to one of our southern rescues for assistance. Compassionate and quick to act, the rescue welcomed the puppies into their care, ensuring they would find loving forever homes through their partnership with SOS. To prevent this situation from repeating, they were able to get dad into a local low-cost clinic to be neutered and has arranged for the mother to be spayed, relieving the family of any future worry. This heartfelt collaboration proved that even in difficult moments, kindness and community support can create positive outcomes for both pets and their people. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
