Rescue City

Our mission is to save the lives of dogs in desperate need while spreading public awareness against animal cruelty and overpopulation.Everyday we save vulnerable dogs from neglect, abuse, and euthanasia. We provide temporary safe foster homes and medical/emergency treatment to prepare these loving animals for their forever home. (This means we do not have a physical shelter location, and all of our dogs are in loving foster homes throughout the city.) Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, we connect our dogs with loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every dog is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated prior to finalization of adoption. Our commitment to our dogs goes beyond the adoption process, as we stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our fosters, adopters, and community on what they can do to help dogs in need.

Meet Joey

I was hit by a car so hard that it shattered my tiny 19lb body. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t even breathe. And then, suddenly, I was in a strange place. Bright lights, strange faces, and machines all around me. The doctors told me something that broke my heart: my family never came for me.At just 9 months old, my life was shattered in an instant. The impact left me with multiple fractures in my pelvis and tiny broken bones all over my body. The doctors said I needed surgery, a full pelvic reconstruction… but it all sounded so painful, so overwhelming. My tiny body was so fragile, but my heart was still strong, still full of hope. And then, Rescue City came for me. They didn’t hesitate for a second. Mary transported me straight to the emergency clinic, sitting with me as I was admitted to the hospital. The doctors at AMC took one look at my CT scan and knew how serious my injuries were. Three major fractures in my pelvis and many more smaller fractures scattered throughout my body. They told me my recovery would be long, painful, and complicated, but I would survive. I will recover. The good news is that my prognosis is great. I’m going to make it. After surgery and months of healing, I’ll be stronger than ever. But there’s a catch. My medical bills are very large. My treatment, surgery, stay at AMC and supplies is estimated at $20,000.And that’s where you come in, #RescueCityFamily. You have the power to help Rescue City save my life. I may be just a pup, but I’ve got a heart full of love and the spirit of a fighter. I promise, I am worth it.My family may have turned their back on me, but now I’m with Rescue City. With your help, I can walk again. I can run again. I can be the puppy I was always meant to be.Here’s where you can help: Donate to my medical fund – Every little bit counts. No donation is too small, and together we can hit that $20,000 target. Share my story – The more people who know about me, the better my chances of getting the help I need. Purchase tickets to Rescue City’s Pawty on 12/10 - 100% of the proceeds are donated to help Rescue City with their medical and emergency bills like mine. Thank you to Rescue City for taking me in and believing in me. They are fighting for me every step of the way, and I know that together, we can make it through this. Please donate, share, and help me get the care I need. Thank you for saving my life.
