Meet Gizmo

Location: MD Meet Gizmo! AKA Gizmodo, Gizmush, the Gizmonster! This playful pup is about one and a half years old, about 30 lbs, and a very smart and super sweet guy. In true ACD fashion, Gizmo prefers to be around people as much as possible and needs good exercise and training but he'll be a great dog for a home that can keep him entertained and wants an affectionate and loyal pup. Gizmo loves fetch and will play endlessly. He’s learning to walk nicely on leash and does pretty well unless there’s a squirrel nearby. Gizmo is crate trained and has slept quietly in his crate each night since being in his foster home. We think he may be part Basenji given his taller ears, adorable curly tail, and that he DOSEN’T BARK! He does whine in his crate at times but no full-on barking. Gizmo is house trained but has had a few accidents when he’s had more freedom in the house so there may be an adjustment period for him in a new home. Gizmo has gotten along well with the nine year old cattle dog in his foster home and has not shown any resource guarding behavior (though he is quicker to fetch the ball or frisbee!). He was previously kid-tested with no issues. Gizmo is a special guy and would be a great first dog or great family dog for an active home. He will need ample exercise, attention, and training but once those needs are satisfied Gizmo is happy to curl up with you and relax, often snoring and dreaming within a few minutes.
