Meet Sprout
Sprout, is your typical sweet-faced lovable black lab mix. This pup, at just 6 months old and is full of life. He loves to be by your side, play with fellow canines, or hang out with kids. He has a short black coat and currently weighs about 28 pounds. He will probably be in the large (Over 60 pounds) range for size when fully grown. Black labs are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. Labs are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active throughout their lives. They make great family companions. As a mix he probably will have several of these lab qualities.Puppies have lots of potential, and since he is smart and friendly, Sprout can grow to be a wonderful companion in the right home. It is not known if he has met a cat. Using the right guidance with consistency and patience, will help him with the skills he needs to master. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping him master those skills. He is working diligently on his skill set of house, crate, and leash training. Since he is smart, he will be a quick learner once routines are established. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. Please note: He may not be a running companion until at least age one when his growth plate closes. He will also appreciate free time in the back yard or maybe at a local dog park. Keeping his mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. Could he be a future frisbee player? Bring Sprout into your life and you will not be disappointed. * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine.
