AVAILABLE Radley Jay, ME If you’ve been looking for an adventure dog with a fun, up-for-anything temperament, I have great news for you: His name is Radley, and he’s a wicked good boy. Radley is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a friendly, social personality. He’s got the athleticism and the stamina to be a hiking buddy capable of bagging some real peaks, and the outgoing nature to hang at the brew pub after. He’s a typical young Cattle Dog who needs ample mental and physical exercise, so he’s going to need plenty of “go” before he’s ready to “whoa”, but he does settle nicely once you’ve worn him out. He also loves to play ball, which will help meet his exercise requirements on busy days. In fact, he enjoys toys and puzzle games of all kinds. Goofy and affectionate, Radley loves to cuddle with his people, and by “with them” I mean “ON them”. Personal space is not a thing in Radley’s worldview. We humans are his comfy deluxe recliners to sprawl on, and don’t skimp on the heat and massage, please and thank you. If 45 pound lap dogs aren’t your bliss, he might be just the guy to change your mind. Radley loves other dogs and has struggled a little when it comes to respecting the cues of the grumpy senior dogs in his foster home. He’s sure he could convince them to play if he just tried a little harder, despite their not-subtle hints to the contrary. He does buzz off eventually, but any canine companions in Radley’s new home should be open to roughhousing. We don’t know how he would do with cats. He does jump up when he’s excited, and typically for the breed can be mouthy, but he hasn’t shown a lot of herdy behavior, so would likely be fine with kids old enough and sturdy enough to withstand his play style. Radley jumps right in the car and is ready for adventure! He is house and crate trained, and has mastered basic cues like “sit’, and “down”, and has the start of a solid recall. We will be looking for an adopter who is excited to build a lifetime bond with this wonderful boy through fun, positive training. Radley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. He is being fostered in Maine. To facilitate meet-and-greets and transportation to his new home, preference will be given to New England adopters. Questions about Rad?
