Twenty Paws Rescue

Twenty Paws Rescue founders, Linda and Rachel, share one common objective and passion. Every day they battle an ongoing epidemic plaguing our streets, the abundance of forgotten homeless, abused, and surrendered animals. Twenty Paws, a small rescue, is only able to bring their ambitious dreams to fruition with the help of an exceptional and dedicated team of volunteers, fosters, donors, and adopters. Tirelessly, the Twenty Paws team utilizes their boundless devotion to provide all Twenty Paws animals with warm and loving care until they find a forever home, including foster and veterinary care.Even though the Twenty Paws focuses primarily on the “bully” breeds, they are not a breed specific rescue. Twenty Paws provides refuge and unconditional love to dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, sex, and temperament. Linda and Rachel strive to provide all Twenty Paws animals and families with the ideal match and safest environment possible. Furthermore, they have the strength inside to fight every minute. Until every shelter cage is empty, Twenty Paws will continue to be their voice.Twenty Paws Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization. All donations and contributions to the rescue are tax-deductible.

Meet Meleys

Meleys is an 11-month-old, 33 lb bundle of sugar, spice, and everything nice. She’s looking for a forever home to match her sweet, playful nature! This pint-sized pittie already proved to be the epitome of Destiny’s Child Survivor. Found in abandoned in the streets of Newark, NJ, Meleys was skin and bones- too weak to move or lift her head. The shelter staff brought her to the shelter on a stretcher. While her body was failing, Meleys refused to give up. She was determined to thrive and reclaim her sparkle! We knew this girl belonged with us and quickly mobilized to bring her home to heal. The shelter staff went above and beyond stabilizing Meleys and preparing her for transfer. Since arriving her our foster home, Meleys reclaimed her life and joy. We couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come. Today, you’d never guess the hardships she’s endured and overcome. Meleys is a happy, healthy girl with a heart full of love. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, especially the more easygoing ones, and loves to play. Meleys just adores humans and meeting anyone that gives her a glance- quickly winning over even the toughest audiences.  Her ideal home is active, ready to match her newfound zest for life. Meleys might be approaching a year old, but she is a puppy through and through. She loves car rides and takes her human foster sibling to school every day. When walking on leash, she prances and soaks up time to bond with her human. She would thrive with someone interested in teaching her agility, advanced tricks, or anything to help her grow and learn. She loves to be the best student in class!  Our girl never got to enjoy her ‘youth’. She decided this is her time to shine, grow, and SPARKLE again. With the heart of a warrior and an unbreakable spirit, Meleys inspires all of us.  Meleys is up to date on all her vaccinations and is spayed–ready to start her new chapter with the perfect family. She’s the ideal mix of sweet, playful, and full of personality—just the kind of pup you’d want by your side. If you’re looking for a strong, loving, and resilient girl, Meleys is the perfect fit. She’s ready to be your best friend! If interested in adopting Meleys, please complete an application on our website at https://www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications/ or email us at info@twentypawsrescue.com.
