Buffalo CARES was started by 7 people who have worked together for years at various other rescues. We started this rescue because we wanted to make sure our rescue was run the right way. We saw a need for a rescue in the Buffalo, NY area that would help & rescue local dogs. The majority of our animals are local animals.

Meet Summer

Hi! My name is Summer, and I’m a 4 month old Red Heeler mix puppy. I’ve been having a real blast here in my foster home, but I’d love to find a forever home of my own now! I’m in foster with another dog, kids and a cat and I love them all. I just want everyone to be my friend. Toys are my favorite thing ever and would play with you all day if you’d let me! I’ve been working really hard on my potty training and will go right away when you take me out like a good girl, and am doing great on my leash skills. I’m crate trained already and sleep in it all night without a peep! I know how to sit and am very treat motivated and would learn other tricks super fast with some practice! Adoption Process
All adoptions require, reference checks, vet reference checks, home visits, meet & greets. From there we will determine if that applicant is right for the dog they are interested in. At the adoption, a contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be paid. Fee's are based on the specific dog. Puppies, adults, bully breeds or special needs.
