Meet Wally

Location: Pawling, NY. Meet the fuzziest meatball you ever did see, Wally, aka Wally Bear! Wally was found dumped in KY, but lucked out and found his way to ACDRA. This pint-sized porcine is a 4-year-old red heeler mix who is a little on the pudgy side. Aren’t we all? Wally needs an adopter committed to him slimming down, which means this boy needs to MOVE. He is extremely food motivated and aspirationally athletic. Wally loves to sniff and play with balls, but – like everything – he tries to operate on his own time. His adorable teddy bear face and copious kisses offset his pigheaded, mouth-first style of communication. Typically standoffish with newcomers, Wally is a 10 out of 10 clinger with his people. This little diamond-in-the-the-ruff is looking for a lap to love on. Wally has shown promise in cohabiting with other dogs, and initial exposure to cats proved to be uneventful, but is not recommended to be around children under 12 due to his nipping and his tendency to slide-tackle for bellies.  Wally’s ideal situation is a savvy owner who has a solid understanding of the breed and is committed to helping him on his health journey as well as developing his manners. The ability to set and enforce boundaries are a must for this little M-80. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Questions? Contact his foster at [email protected]. If you think this little character might be for you, please fill out an application at www.acdra.org/adoption-application.
