Muttley is an amazing little pup. He is 26 pounds and about 1 year old. He is such a good boy. He does well in his kennel, no accidents. He walks great on leash when he has his harness on. He will not pull and will stay at your pace. He will pull when walked with a leash attached to his collar. He can follow basic commands. Muttley was found when he was dumped in the country living in the trash and he was very skinny. He loves to play with other dogs, but bones and food need to be given separately due to some issues with resource guarding due to being starved. He simply does not like to share his food/bones with other dogs. He has no problems when an adult or child takes food or toys from him. He only feels threatened if it's another dog and he actually has possession of the item. He might growl at the other dog but he has never done more than this. We think this behavior is because he was starved and never had anything of his own. He does great with cats and children too. We are working on marking behaviors that have gotten tremendously better since he's been with us and neutered. We keep a belly band on him when he is in the house just as a precaution. Muttley does not outright pottie in the house, but he will mark in the house where other dogs have marked. He has not marked in other houses he has gone where another dog has not marked in the house previously. Any adopter would need to be patient with him and understand that he may always need to wear belly bands and that he is not to be kept as an outdoor dog. He has never pooped in the house and he has never gone to the bathroom in his crate. He cannot be kept in a crate the majority of the time due to him marking issue either. Sometimes he will bark for 5 minutes when he first goes in his kennel but then he calms down. He does not bark at people that walk by outside. His ideal home would be with or without another dog. He loves people, getting attention, hanging out, playing and going for strolls. He also loves to hang out outside, sunbath and just chill. He is a fun little guy with a ton of personality.
