Humane Society of Washington County, TN

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society promotes Spay/Neuter. We pull animals from our local animal shelter and place them in foster care, give them any medical attention they need, spay/neuter prior to adoptions. We also, review craigslist on a daily basis and contact individuals listing "free" puppies, dogs, cats and kittens in an effort to get them to surrender to us and attempt to educate these individuals about spay/neuter and the danger of listing free animals. Along with our foster animals, we take animals currently residing in our local shelter to adoption events.

Meet Tim

Hi,  My name's Tim. I am a chihuahua that was rescued from a home overrun with animals. I am bonded to my sister, Cindy, and beg that I be adopted with her. We are terrified given all we've been through, but we have the potential to be such wonderful companions. Can you open your heart and your home to us? We would be ever so grateful. We just need to be given a second chance. Please note that this is a mixed breed pup.  There is no guarantee on breed or adult size.  This pup is in a foster home.  Contact Halee for more information [email protected] You may complete an application at https://ahhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/

Adoption Process
$50.00 for cats and kittens, dogs range from $150.00 to $275.00. We have adoption applications and contracts for potential adopters to complete. Vet references are checked and home visits on some animals are required.
