Meet Josie

Hi there, future family! My name is Josie, and I’m a 1.5-year-old Great Dane with a heart as big as my paws! At about 105 pounds of pure love, I like to think of myself as a perfect mix of sweetness and goofball energy. I have two speeds: full-on zoomies and professional-level snuggling—and I’m excellent at both! When I get my zoom on, I love racing around outside, playing with my doggy friends at daycare, and going on long walks. When I’m done? Oh, you better believe I’ll be curled up next to you on the couch (my foster mom says I'm a total lapdog). I’m a "velcro Dane" through and through—I love being with my people and thrive on companionship. I also love meeting new friends on my walks, and I’m always happy to say hello to the neighbors!  I’m now house-broken (yay me!) and very treat-motivated, which makes training lots of fun—no guarding behaviors here, just a girl who loves a good snack. Since coming into foster care, I’ve learned some basic commands and have gotten used to my crate, which is where I sleep at night. I also love car rides—just say the word, and I’m ready to go! I’m working on my leash manners with a gentle leader because, well, without it, I might accidentally take you for a walk instead of the other way around (what can I say? I’ve got power!). Most of the time I try very hard to be a good girl, but I must confess... I'm an opportunistic counter-surfer (you remember that stick of butter that was on the counter...?). And if you ever lose a wool slipper? No worries, I’ll gladly help you find it… though I’d prefer to keep it for myself. I’d love a family that will continue to work with me on my training and provide the structure I need to be my best self. A fenced yard where I can zoom to my heart’s content would be amazing, but what I really want is a home full of love, snuggles, and adventure. Are you looking for a best friend who’s equal parts playful, sweet, and snuggly? Then I might just be the perfect girl for you! Love (and some wet kisses, too), Josie
