Meet Millie
Millie is a 1 yr old, 8 lb. Shih Tzu, (possibly terrier mix). She was found as a stray and ended up at a local shelter where no one came to claim her. She is unsure when she meets new people, but once she gets comfortable, she is loving and devoted. Millie is still very much a puppy, and she puts everything in her mouth. Millie can be redirected to chew on her toys. We prefer a home for Millie where there is another small dog to help her become comfortable more quickly. She can be timid upon first meeting new people. Millie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is doing very well with house training. She sleeps in the bed with her foster mom and her little dogs. Millie walks well on the leash. Millie is young and quick, so she is best suited for an adopter who is the same; she is not a fit for someone older because she can easily get underfoot and is a tripping hazard. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC and VA. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME (NO YOUNG CHILDREN) WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR MILLIE'S ADOPTIVE HOME AND strongly prefer a tiny (under 15lbs) young dog to help with her transition. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens, dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 24 inches high AT THE LOWEST POINT, 36 inches is preferred from the ground up. No exceptions. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business days. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dogs after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption fee is $500.
