Freedom German Shepherd Rescue

We are a group of volunteers that are dedicated to saving the lives of German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes. We all work in a variety of disciplines to include medical, financial, animal welfare and corporate. What bonds us is our love for all dogs, specifically German Shepherds. We've all volunteered for other 501c nonprofit rescues and feel the dogs are best served by all of us working together. We all strongly feel that there are too many unwanted, abused and neglected animals that we want to work together, with shelters and the community, to help reduce the epidemic through saving the dogs and educating the public.

Meet Bryce

*Meet Bryce – Your Loyal Shadow and protector!**  I am a fearless handsome goofball! I am a 2-year-old male German Shepherd with a  heart as big as my 90-pound frame. I can be affectionate and consider myself a "Velcro  dog"— wherever you go, I will be right behind you, always ready to offer my  companionship. I love to lay at your feet while you complete dishes and laundry while looking at you with the most loving eyes that will melt you to make you give me a treat!  My foster home has a lot of dogs and I play well with them but that doesn’t mean I need  a canine companion because as long as I have you, that is all I need. My foster mom  also has cats which makes me excited. When I think they want to play, I chase them around but when my foster mom tells me to stop, I listen for a moment but then want to  play again. My intentions are not to hurt them though. My forever home can have cats as long as you are willing to guide me and teach me that they are just scared of my size and mesmerized by how cute I am. Yes, I am a goofball that would play all day long, but I am also very intelligent and want  a home that has consistency and structure. I am crate and house-trained as far as using the bathroom goes, but if I am bored and left unsupervised, I create a little mischief by exploring countertops and rummaging through unattended belongings. I am NOT destructive, though. I have not been  around children at my foster mom's home, but she thinks I would be a rock star with  them! I do need a home with a secure fence that is at least 4 feet tall because my foster mom didn’t know that I like to play “tag”. She got some exercise trying to catch me around the neighborhood once but I just wanted to explore my temporary home is what I told her.  I want to find my forever parent or parents who will provide me with guidance, patience, and plenty of love, and don’t forget the treats!! In return, I will be the most loyal  companion, always eager to be a part of your daily life all the time, and love you  unconditionally. If you’re ready for a devoted best friend who will follow you anywhere,  Bryce is waiting to meet you!  If you think Bryce would be the perfect addition to your family, please contact your adoption coordinator. If you do not yet have an adoption coordinator, please complete an application at www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org . Bryce is being fostered outside of Charlotte

Adoption Process
All applicants must pass a vet check, phone interview and home visit in order to adopt. Once an applicant passes, they must sign an adoption contract where they agree to alter the dog by 6 months of age - if they are adopting a puppy, guarantee that the dog will receive proper vet care, food, water and exercise, and will return the dog to the rescue if they can no longer keep the dog for any reason. All dogs are microchipped prior to adoption, with Freedom GSR always remaining on the chip. The adoption fee is $250, adopters receive a 2 week trial period with the dog and if the adopter is found to be in violation of the contract, Freedom GSR will reclaim the dog. All dogs will not be adopted out until they are up to date on shots, free of heartworms and intestinal parasites and altered, if six months of age or older. If a puppy is adopted, the adoption contract stipulates that the puppy must be altered by the time s/he turns 6 months old.
