Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue

We are a nonprofit and no kill rescue that works within our county to make it a no kill community. We take in dogs/puppies, cats/kittens and update their vetting including spay and neuters. We will fix the moms and dads of the litters we take so their won't be anymore accidental litters. We do not use vouchers, all of our animals are spayed and neutered before they are adopted out.

Meet Bourbon (Courtesy Post)

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue. Contact information is provided in the description below.Bourbon is a sweet and affectionate 12-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix who's looking for a loving, low-stress home. He weighs about 15 lbs. This loyal companion is well past his puppy days but still has plenty of love to give.Bourbon is calm, loving, and great with adults. He is healthy and well-cared for. He is neutered, housebroken, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He walks well on a leash. Bourbon is good with other dogs, but not cats or children. He likes to be the center of attention, so if he was an only dog, that would be ideal for him - but he'd be fine in a home with other dogs too. The ideal home for him would be a quiet home with no young children or cats.If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be by your side, Bourbon is the perfect match. He's looking for a forever home where he can live out his senior years in comfort and love.If you think Bourbon could be a good fit for your home, please reach out to Margot at 929-522-8995 or by email at [email protected]

Adoption Process
An application is required and once it is processed and approved we will set up a time for the adopter to meet the pet, if the pet is finished with their vetting then we can finalize adoption or put the pet on hold and let the adopter know when the pet is ready. When we finalize adoption, the adopter will need to sign an adoption contract and a health disclaimer. We do ask that if the adopter decides that it is not working out that they bring the dog back to us so we can make sure the animal will go into a good home.
